Murales on Tiles is a site-specific ceramic mural project combining traditional craftsmanship and contemporary art.

Each mural is developed by selected contemporary artists under a clear artistic direction, translating historical ceramic traditions — from Italian maiolica and Portuguese azulejos to Chinese decorative arts — into clean, modern compositions.

Every project is fully bespoke and designed in close collaboration with architects and interior designers. The goal is to create murals that integrate seamlessly with the space, enhancing the architecture and strengthening the overall design identity.

Tiles are entirely hand-painted using underglaze pigments, then sealed and finished with a transparent glaze, and individually kiln-fired. This process ensures durable, washable, and long-lasting surfaces suitable for both residential and commercial environments, while preserving the depth and vibrancy of the artwork. Natural variations guarantee that each installation is truly one of a kind.

Based at Mana Contemporary in Jersey City, with production between New Jersey and Pietrasanta, Italy, Murales on Tiles connects heritage craftsmanship with contemporary design solutions.
